Purpose/Hypothesis

Hypothesis:
H1: Crayfish given treated with Alisma will have lower blood sugar than the control.

H2: Crayfish given treated with Alisma will secrete less ammonia than the control.

H3: Crayfish given treated with Alisma will consume less oxygen than the control.

Significance:

The purpose of this experiment is to see the effect of Alisma on the red swamp crayfish blood sugar levels, dissolved oxygen, and ammonia levels. This would be used as a possible experimental hyperglycemic treatment.

This an a apparatus used to measure how much oxygen the crayfish use.

This is the ammonia strips used to test the stress level on the crayfish.

This is the solution made from alisma injected into the crayfish.
